I am trying to setup SSRS access via SSL, and I have followed the instructions here; however, I do not receive a clickable url in the Configuration Manager to click on and test. The url shows as
https://+:9443/ReportServer
. Based upon this walkthrough it looks like the url is being provided from the certificate. How can I make this work with the wildcard cert where it can be accessed via https://sub.domain.com:9443/ReportServer
? SSRS 2008 host headers and SSL. Discussion in 'SQL Server 2008 Questions Archive Only - Closed. Wildcard certificate:.testdomain.org. In the Report Manager URL section of the Reporting Services Configuration Manager, I clicked the Advanced button, and then the Add button to add a host header to the 'Multiple Identities for Report Manager.
I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks

the following taken from michael12345's answer here solved my problem.
- Shut down the instance.
- Delete the reservations with:
netsh http delete urlacl url=yoururl
- Create new ones with:
netsh http add urlacl url=yourdomain:yourport/ReportServer user=MYSERVERMyAccount
- Then I edited the rsreportserver.config
URLReservations
section to reflect the URL reservations I added above. I'm not sure if this necessary, however I felt I should update it so that consistent URLs are shown throughout the configuration tool and logfiles. - Start the instance again.

I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 server running SQL Server 2012 with Reporting Services.
I want to be able to use the Reporting Services Report Manager over HTTPS instead of the default HTTP.
How can I install an SSL Certificate and apply it to SSRS? I do not have, nor want to install, ISS on this box.

You would use the Certificates snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC.exe) to install your certificate, actually. And since an SSL certificate is a machine certificate, you want to be sure to open the Certificates snap-in for the local computer, not for your user.
The technet page on the process is here.
- You will need the CA's certificate in your Trusted Root certificate store. Major commercial CAs will be there, but if you use an internal CA or a self-signed certificate, your CA may or may not be there, and needs to be.
You can then use the Reporting Services Configuration tool to configure SQL Reporting Services to use your certificate. (Third section, 'Bind SSL to a Reporting Services URL Reservation')
